SooZ "I never want to
be limited in anything, |
|
She began painting with oils in the fall of 2001 and started using watercolours and acrylics the following spring. Since, she has become an active member in numerous local art associations & societies and exhibits her work in group shows, solo shows, and on her website. She has recently been honored by being elected into the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA) and the International Guild of Realism (IGOR). SooZ has won many awards for her paintings the most recent being the NorthLight Art Book cover competition and acceptance into the permanent collection of Yevhen Yukhnytsya exhibited in Château des Réaux in Loire France. Her paintings can be found in private & corporate collections across Canada, the United States, Holland, France, England, Russia, Poland, and China. SooZ presently works in various mediums and on a wide range of subject matter. Most of her work can be described as bright and whimsical. While never garish, her energized work beams with vivid hues controlled by a natural sense of colour.
“I never want to be limited in anything, by anything. This I feel, is strongly reflected in my artwork. My mind plays with the objects it loves, and I draw much of my inspiration from my imagination. Imagination mixed with a touch of reality is the perfect formula for a "SooZ" painting. Usually you'll find me working on a variety of themes creating colourful series. There will never be enough time to paint everything I can imagine so I work steadily and feel assured that at least some of my visions will be given life in the form of a painting. With colour that laughs out loud, I classify my work as fun art.”
